We’re all family here.

We’re John and Lucia Bobby. This bakeshop is our shared dream come true.

After savory and sweet stints working in critically-acclaimed kitchens, we returned to our hometown of Winston-Salem to raise our boys, enjoy life a bit more, and eventually pursue our own place. It was a leap of faith along with a community of good food friends that helped us bring Bobby Boy Bakeshop to life in 2019.

Something you oughtA know about us…
We’re obsessed with making things better.

Creative experimentation and collaboration move us. We’re always challenging each other to push farther and see where it goes. And partnering with other local chefs and farmers to keep things creative. So while our display cases will always have our staples, you can expect some enticing new aromas (and flavors) to hit you every time you walk through our doors.

Having worked at extremely high volume boulangerie in Paris on the Rue Saint-Honeré, and at two patisseries in Aix-en-Provence, I can honestly say, with confidence, that the quality and attention to detail found at Bobby Boy Bakeshop ranks at a world-class level... Chef Lucia Anna Bobby is a pâtissière véritable. And Chef John Bobby really has it going on. Such fantastic breads!

We share more than a space with The Caviste Wine Shop — we share a deep passion for great food and wine with The Caviste’s proprietor, Russ Anderson, and his wife, Alice Chen. And it’s that shared passion that led to our partnership on Bobby Boy Bakeshop (and a lot of tasty experiences along the way!).

So while you’re visiting us, be sure to visit them. They would love to help you choose the perfect wine for your next dinner, event, snack, or even mood! At The Caviste, you’ll find a highly curated assortment of food-friendly, artisanal, hand-crafted wines by small producers — made with minimal manipulation by the winemaker. All of their wines are thoughtfully selected through tasting, not marketing.
